Depends on the event and the state of your nails. Gel or dip lasts longest; if you don’t plan to keep it up or remove it (gel/dip is hard to remove) - neutral will last longer. Choose an undertone that matches your skin and anything will be flattering (cool or warm).

OPI Malaga Wine (in red family)
OPI Bubble bath (very light pink very light but looks good on everyone)
Both are older colors never go out of style
OPI Burgundy is a good one as well

It depends what the event is and what you plan on wearing.
I tend to like neutrals (light pink, beige etc) unless I want a dash of color. If that's the case, I like a classic red.
