Don’t Amy comey barretts kids go there? They used to have a college placement list up, it was good but not great, which could be for a # of reasons. ACBs kids will prob get into good schools though!

The curriculum looks on par with other privates as to difficulty, but I don’t know about college placent.

Current 8th class of boys lost 1-2 from 7th I heard. Dominion Christian is a similar vibe but prob has more room for 9th.

We absolutely adore the school!

1. No, there are no AP courses. Everyone takes the same classes, which don't line up with the AP curriculum. Kids can absolutely take the AP exams, though. Colleges want to see that kids are taking the most rigorous classes available, but if there aren't opportunities to demonstrate rigor in course selection that isn't a knock.

2. There is not math differentiation. There is a math test as part of admission (aptitude for 7/8, knowledge for HS), but everyone takes the same math class. Senior math is their third semester of calculus, then linear algebra and mathematical modeling.

3. It depends on the school and the kid. If it's a K-8 that sends other kids to TMV, they probably have some experience and would be happy to tell you.

4. Sadly, yes. They don't add seats in 9th grade, so you're gambling on either someone leaving or a small class. A lot of kids leave their K-8 schools after 6th grade to go to TMV, because it's much much easier to get in for 7th. The current 8th grade has a lot of girls and not very many boys, so probably higher chances of getting in for next year if you have a son, but who knows.

1. Does the school offer AP courses? If not, does that hinder college admissions?

2. Is there math differentiation? What is the highest math course offered?

3. Do kids who complete 7th and 8th elsewhere (we’d be coming from a Catholic K-8) usually catch up without issues?

4. Is it difficult to get in for 9th grade?
