Thanks so much for the product recommendation. I know the cause of my scalp issues, I don't need to consult anyone about that. I had brain surgery in 2023 and this issue has arisen from the healing process, the scar, etc. Its quite common for BT patients but its not a priority for the surgeons and aftercare team as its a late stage side effect.

Head and shoulders dry scalp works great for scalp health.

You need to consult a dermatologist. There can be several causes and thus different treatments to soothe an itchy scalp.

Make sure you are not having a reaction to a hair product. I have to be really careful with shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in conditioners and heat protectants. I come home immediately after getting my hair cut to wash it thoroughly because odds are what they use will make my scalp itched.
Also, if you do not already, try a scalp scrubbing tool when you wash your hair. Especially if you have thick hair - it’s hard to your scalp really clean.

Also do you use head and shoulders or t gel shampoo? Both worked for me. For some reason I kind of outgrew dandruff/itchy scalp.

Scalpicin. It is salicylic acid. I use it maybe once a month. Helps so much with the itch. I apply it, massage in really well and within seconds the itch is gone.
Occasionally during the month I add 4-5 drops of tea tree oil to my shampoo, scrub in with a silicone scalp scrubber and let it sit while I shave, wash, etc. and then rinse with cool water and condition.

I was at Lush at Tysons today and in the cooler with face masks they had a scalp scrub/mask that said it is good for itchy scalps. I almost bought it, but didn't and now I regret it. I'm not seeing it on the Lush website; maybe because it is refrigerated you can't get it online?

What is the best oil and / or exfoliant for an itchy scalp that scabs occasionally (its not psoriasis)?
