Why? My kid took Applied Calc at her HS and is currently doing very well in her college Calc I class (with many classmates who took AP calc in HS).

I think Applied Calculus is the lowest option and it's still worth taking even if AP offerings are too challenging.

Per their course catalog, they have an Applied Calc, DE and AP calc, but that's about it.

If you school doesn't offer AP, they might even bus you to another school. Not sure if Langley has anything except AP Calculus though.

There are normally two calculus classes in every high school that has AP. One is calculus AB and the other is calculus BC, which is more difficult. You can go to the college board website to find out the differences AB covers the first semester of a college course and BC covers the entire year. Credit is awarded accordingly depending on how well you do on the exam.

Your child should probably take AP anyway, that way s/he can actually get a college credit

There are actually two AP Calculus classes, one that prepares students for the AP exam and one that doesn't. Most kids at Langley take the lower AP Calculus class. No clue about regular Calculus.

Is AP Calculus the lowest Calculus course offered at Langley HS? I heard that there has to be enough interest each year for non-AP Calculus for it to be offered.
