I saw one today in Prince George's. I don't know if they are always there or not. I just saw one standing on a nearby corner.

I believe there are community engagement officers assigned to cloisters of ES. I know ours previously did trainings for our 5th grade safety patrols. The police are also called when a child absconds and may also be called if there is an issue with custody messiness (eg parent shows up to take kids when there is a court order prohibiting it etc.).

I drove past two mcps elementary schools this am and both had a patrol stationed outside. What gives?
