I was also gojng to suggest WJHS in bethesda — right off the beltway and next to Westfield mall if that makes it convenient for you! Their annual book sale finds all sorts of stuff for the kids clubs and teams.

Come to Bethesda-Chevy Chase high school on Sunday! 10am - 2pm. Pull up in your car and someone will take your boxes and give you a tax receipt.

Thank you!

Ask your buy nothing group. Many teachers solicit book donations for classroom libraries.

After checking to be sure that they want the donations, I’ve given books to schools and public libraries. Other options include:

The Book Thing of Baltimore
The Maryland Book Bank

I would take some to the fire station (they collect things to distract kids in their care who have been in danger or under threat). I would also take some to your local hospital and some to the library / little free libraries.

Where do you like to donate kid books? I am clearing my kids bookshelves and have over 100 pristine middle year books that they would like to give away. I usually give to the friends of the library but I’m wondering if there’s a disadvantaged school or shelter or hospital that might make these available to kids/teens for free.
