It's incredibly rude when you block a lane in dense traffic, and also dangerous when you do this in a turn, as the lack of visibility increases the risk of collision. I come across the latter every day on my commute: there's a restaurant on my way to my kid's school that has deliveries and random cars stopping in a 90 degree turn. Incoming cars need to stop abruptly and wait for a break in traffic to get into the other lane. It's so annoying!

It's uber and delivery services. Their performance is measured down to the second, and if they take longer, their orders and therefore their income are reduced. Anyone who ever downvoted a rideshare driver because they stopped at the corner instead of directly in front of the door has contributed to this.
