Erie is your new bank?

Navy Federal? I know some have had issues with them, though.

I do still keep $2 each in my USAA checking and savings to keep the accounts open if I ever need them.

My Truist account was hacked multiple times even after putting special fraud alerts on it. Now they keep screwing up my kids’ accounts.

My issue wasn’t the hack. No bank is full proof from fraud. It was the lies they told about why they were delayed in refunding the money.

Their insurance used to be the cream of the crop. Now they low ball estimates on repairs and cut a check quickly hoping you’ll go away.

Agree - USAA sucks. We still do have some accounts there but moved all 529s after they transferred them and closed all our credit cards with them.

I called several times August 2024 about an issue we had with a payment for a car purchase (dealer issues) as well as with insurance questions and each time I reached live individuals who were very helpful. Did something change? I’d hate to have to move banks. I have had an awful time with Capitol One and I’m not impressed with Chase Bank. Capital One held my college kid’s money hostage for years (really years!) claiming they couldn’t release funds from her account because they had to freeze it with no valid explanation. I couldn’t get any help at the branch and had to rely on their 800# where they just kept passing the buck and promising to investigate.

Capital One is the worst, will never do any kind of business with them again.

USAA is a shitshow. They took the thing they were renowned for-- a pleasant and intelligent customer service staff-- and replaced it with... not even AI. Dumber than AI.

But I did love the no-fees and the one-stop-shop part (cheapest insurance I've been able to find, so I'll keep it for that.)

Anyway, anyone got a bank that pisses them off less than once per fiscal quarter? That's where the bar is with USAA.
