I would not go, C for sure. Destination weddings are only if it makes for a fun, convenient vacation you actually want to take.

Given the state of our family finances when my kids were in ES, we probably couldn't afford it and would take answer "C".

If finances allowed, I'd either have the person closest to them go and the other parent and kids stay home. Or, if grandparents were willing, have them stay with the kids while both parents go.

If we had tons of money then sure we could all go and bring the grandparents to watch the kids and have a full vacation.

My kids are high school/college and we've only been to Aurope once in their lives, so realistically the option would have been c. But it would have been tempting to take them and get a sitter for the festivities themselves. DEpending on where in Europe, how long we could go, time of year, etc etc.

We went to Europe when the kids were 9 and 12 and had a great time. we did different things than just my husband and I would have done - for exmaple we went to the zoo and really enjoyed the display of american racoons.
