Always delete that stuff. If it ends up on your cc, then work with them.

This. Do not interact at all. Fine to call Garmin and the like if you feel you need to.

OP here, The company was Garmin and I called them through their website not the email so I don’t think it was a phishing attempt.

Hopefully you used a unique password.

IDK, but I would stop interacting. Now that you've called the company you're considered an easy target so be on the lookout for add'l scams.

My name, my email address, but not my shipping or credit card billing address. I called the company, they canceled the order and gave me the last 4 digits of the credit card being used at check out and it wasn't mine. I checked all 3 major credit bureaus and no card has been opened in my name, so I thought maybe this person in TX and I share the same name and have a similar email address that they mistyped. Well fast forward to today and I get an email from the online retailer that I've left an item in my cart - I go to the cart and it's still my full name, email address, but then I see my home phone number in the cart as well - with the shipping/billing addresses in TX. So using my information was obviously not a mistake, but I can't figure out what the scam is? My contact info, but not my credit card. Any ideas?

Probably some kind of return fraud scheme, using your partial identity to obscure the people involved.
