With that SAT the chances are the kid is better off in a school that will be a better fit.

The transcript is sent to Common App.

It can be updated.

And it’s much higher than all the athletes’ scores.

It’s low even for them.

It’s hard to ignore what you already see. I would also see if it can be fixed.

I think if the other stats make up for it- its probably fine! apply test optional and they will ignore.

I would not accept this “clerical error” and have it fixed.

The transcript was already sent?

We had a score removed in a day. I’d push.

If you can afford it, never be ashamed to present credentials and hope for the best. It's worth a lot to know.

Also! Some schools will honor the TO request even if the data makes its way to them. So at some points it may get sanitized if people know about the TO and honor it.

TO can be a convenient fiction for both sides. Presenting your application under TO (regardless of the screw-up) allows them not to add your score, if admitted, to the almighty published SAT distribution.

Finally...no counselor can fix this? Really?

If he marks that he doesn't want testing considered, they won't use it.

My son was going to apply TO and UVA is a reach school but due to a clerical error, his SAT score (1320) is on his transcript and can’t be removed in time to process for EA. His GPA, rigor, etc are pretty good but he is thinking he should not even apply at this point due to the transcript score issue. Any thoughts?
