What do you notice when assessing other women’s appearances? I see their:
1. Hair - well cared for, doesn’t need to be bone straight but curls need to have frizz controlled, a nice cut, shine, subtle color enhancements
2. Clothing - well tailored, mostly neutrals, classic styles
3. Accessories - I personally judge shoes harshly - leather, never “vegan”, clean and/or shined, classic choices like the Gucci loafer (slim profile not the chunky Steve Madden that’s popular), Hermes sandals, Chanel sling back flats, etc. A quality, well shaped bag with minimal logos. Nice belt that coordinates. Simple, quality jewelry - likely pieces they wear daily with maybe one piece for flair that changes with the outfit/occasion.
4. Overall confidence - the way their hold themselves, the way they move.

After that, you get into the close up details
1. Makeup - again, classic. Not flashy, not trendy, just well done and enhances their features.
2. Teeth - white but not blinding, straight but not veneers or overly corrected with orthodontics (think of those perfectly flat smiles). A little character is fine.
3. Skin - you can hide a lot with good makeup so this is lower on the list.
4. Nails - natural looking enhancements of a signature bold color, especially if their wardrobe is mostly neutrals.

I think the goal with makeup/teeth/skin is to look natural and effortless. As if your genes are so good you don’t have to work for it.

You need everything. Including the background -- powerful people aren't found often in common environments. You also need the history. Their entire life experience is different, and their communications reflect that.

Simply put, you can't pull it off. Anyone who actually knows these people will be able to tell that you are trying to pass yourself off as something that you are not, and it will not reflect well upon you.

Try to be the best version of yourself instead. Everything can be clean and neat with consistent effort. Have ethics and confidence. Decent people aren't found everywhere.

Why do you want to have such a sad existence pretending? People will find out immediately anyway from where you grew up, vacationed, or went to school.

Agree. A maniacal drive to be the best is the hallmark of middle class and umc strivers. The upper class don’t care. Truly upper class people are fine with going to a no name liberal arts college because they will get by on connections, while the middle and upper middle are obsessed with ivies.

Not OP, but wealthy people get a lot of privileges and perks that make life easier and more pleasant. Sometimes those are handed out purely on the basis of appearing wealthy.

I am wealthy and know wealthy people. Wealthy people come in all shapes and sizes, and degrees of confidence and put-togetherness. My wealthy husband looks like a homeless guy unless I specifically direct him to nondescript clothes that are better than the ones he usually wears to potter around the house and garden. I am slim and love fun clothes, but my teeth aren't great (auto-immune disease). None of us make any sort of effort to signal anything.

What you're talking about seems to be the poor man's idea of what a wealthy person should look like, which is ridiculous. You'd be trying to impress other poor people? I never make assumptions about how much money someone has upon first meeting, unless I read it in their bio.

Just take care of your health, invest your money wisely and don't spend it on frivolities.

Confidence is the greatest accessory.

Really depends on your starting point.

Clean, good condition, well fitting clothing in neutral or solid colors. Smooth even toned skin without visible makeup (but yes, makeup in a groomed and enhanced sense), good teeth (not blindingly white), clean nails that are NOT over-done. Smooth neat hair in any style but nothing too attention getting. Nothing too flashy.

I don't necessarily agree that fine jewelry or accessories are necessary. Sure, a budget purse from TJ Maxx is going to look decided NOT rich, but a $10 tote bag with the right brand (New Yorker, NPR, a museum, Trader Joe's maybe) is $0-$15 and absolutely could be part of the"rich" look.

Being generally put together. Hair done. Makeup well done but subtle. Subtle but clearly expensive jewelery. Clothes well tailored to you, even just jeans. And definitely how you carry yourself too.

Great skin and teeth just puts you in the market of a pretty ordinary person. I know plenty of non wealthy people who are thin and have great teeth but no one would think they are rich. Put together and caring about appearances, yes. Wealthy? No.
