Reminded me of Billy Bob Thornton in Sling Blade. I actually didn’t realize it was Charlie Hunnam! I loved him in Sons of Anarchy but I guess I haven’t seen him in awhile and didn’t recognize him in this. I didn’t love this documentary, stopped watching after a few episodes.

I couldn’t stand it

me, neither. I did just google what really happened. Good to know fact from fiction but, otherwise, I thought he did a really good job.

Was Hitchcock really that much of a perv?

There really wasn't much to the real Ed Gein. Digging up corpses and displaying body parts around a house. He wasn't quite the monster of the likes of Harold Shipman or Albert Fish, so they are going to make up a bunch of crap to embellish it for ratings.

He’s been known for doing atrocious accent work. He has a lovely voice though.

He’s already signed up for the next one. He plays Lizzie Borden’s father.

It’s working though and his body was cut.

No pun intended

It was TERRIBLE.

There was no need for all of the Nazi/WW2 stuff. No need for the GF going off to NY and fake story about her too being fascinated by the macabre. So much extraneous junk that isn't real and the very bizarre ending.

Imagine you are an elderly hardware store owner murdered by this man and someone comes along and portrays you as sleeping with him and gifting him your underwear? Very distasteful. If they had created fictional characters it might be more forgivable. Adeline was not portrayed accurately either. It doesn’t take much to Google what really happened.

Agree with everything you said. I stopped there too. I also hated all the extraneous stuff, the Nazi storyline in particular. Him liking an image in a magazine doesn't mean we need to see this as an extended storyline. So much of it was rubbing your face in disgusting scenarios.

At least all of the victims and their immediate families have passed away by this point.

It was a little confusing when they jumped to the Psycho and other horror films inspired by Gein, but I appreciate the history lesson.

I cannot believe there isn't a thread about this yet. This eight part series is from the same created as The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. Though they took more creative liberties with Ed Gein.

Warning: It's absolutely the most graphic thing I've ever watched. I've had to take breaks and make sure my head is clear before going to sleep. Still it's a Halloween season must watch for anyone who likes crime/horror.

Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy Jax) is superb, as is Laurie Metcalf. I anticipate that both will receive multiple awards.
