While we're big fans of Coach Pat and his training facility one of the main reasons we didn't join the AAU team is price.
Where the price is about $250 per month plus uniform fee (I think $75?) plus tryout fee which I think was like $60? Maybe $30? So it would've been about $1000 for a season which was way out of our price range.
The benefit of the fee is that I think it includes unlimited training to their regular group classes. So if you're able to take advantage of that it would make the cost more worthwhile. Our family has other activities and is why we couldn't justify the cost for it. If we went more frequently we might've considered it more.
Also Coach Pat just posted on the instagram page that they'll be joining the Under Armour circuit but I'm not sure if that applies to every team.
He is probably joining UA Rise, which is a lot of traveling expenses and gear the parents pay for. If your kid is at the early developmental stage, all the traveling isn’t necessary.
Now if his gear, travel, food, and lodging expenses are covered by Underarmour, then it’s worthwhile.

Those prices aren’t bad for all you are getting. Plenty of organizations charging more for less out there.

PTR is expensive. They have good trainers, and players on AAU teams can take unlimited group classes (robust and varied schedule), which is a great perk. Perhaps not true for all grade levels or genders, but there are certainly some developmental or rec level players who make the AAU team for #s.
