Those aren’t targets for anyone.

George Washington?

A target should be an acceptance rate between 20-50%, anything lower is a reach. Ideally you want a few targets where your kid is at/above the 75% for stats and the acceptance rates are 30-40%+ to improve acceptance chances

The problem is that there aren't a lot of schools that have an acceptance rate between 20-50%. The ones that are in that range are difficult to get in for other reasons (e.g. they are women's colleges or small schools where you need to really ED or your odds decrease a lot, or not worth the high tuition based on post-college employment numbers).

William & Mary is the obvious answer here, OP.

Really depends on high school. Depends on how popular the college is at your high school. At ours, haverford, Richmond, Davidson are good targets.

My kid got into Hopkins and U Chicago abs was WL Tufts and rejected Georgetown.

Tufts if you don’t ED- u will be yield protected.

BU admission easier if ED

It's hard to find targets for this profile; it's either likely or reach it seems. Vassar, Weslyan may be targets?

Look into Vassar, which offers an excellent political science program and enhanced admission chances for male applicants.

Richmond
Davidson (show DI)
Wake (harder if no ED)

Richmond is a likely admit.

Bowdoin seems a good fit, but it's too reachy.

I would suggest Richmond, Wake, Boston U, and Boston College.

My DS has his reaches and safeties but doesn't have targets that he'd be happy to attend if the reaches don't work out.

What would you put on the list for target schools?
4.0 GPW UW/4.7 W
36 ACT superscore
Probably poli sci major
Strong ECs, no major awards but very involved at schools, internships

East Coast school location, not into big sports, frat or southern scene, not too rural
