I always like her. First Wives Club was probably my favorite. I was in my early 20s when it came out and I remember thinking I hope I’m as cool as those women when I’m 50. I’m 52 now, and nowhere near as cool, but they all really lit a path of nonconformity to societal norms that really helped me forge my own way through life. This was wonderful for a woman raised in a conservative high demand religion—to know there was more to life than getting married, having babies and serving men. Thank you Diane Keaton and all the women of your generation.

Queen of coastal chic. I wanted everything from Something’s Gotta Give - the house, the clothes, Keanu

She just exuded warmth in all her roles. Even in a movie like The Family Stone in which she was so unlikable and snarky, you still wanted her as your mom or your best friend.

This one is shocking. Was she sick?

Oh no. Loved her, grew up watching her, and kind of thought she would always be around.
RIP.

Looking back on her career, Keaton told PEOPLE in 2019, "I don't know anything, and I haven't learned. Getting older hasn't made me wiser. Without acting I would have been a misfit."

I’ve always liked her.
