You can take those classes and also AP classes. My son did that and went on to become an aerospace engineer. He loves it.

1. Principles of Engneering
2. One of the following
Civil engineering
Aerospace engineering
Digital Design engineering
3. Engineering development and design
Thanks.

This is Project Lead The Way (PLTW). My DC did it at Poolesville. It’s a structured set of engineering classes and provides a nice foundation if your DC is interested in engineering. These classes aren’t science classes.

If they aren’t science, what are they?

What is the engineering program at Wooton?

They are engineering. Google is your friend if you want to understand the difference between science and engineering.

Wheaton has a great Project Lead the Way program. Former engineers from schools like MIT and the Naval Academy teach there.

Look up Project Lead the Way. Not every school offers it, but it is a national program and other area schools have it too. In addition to the courses, students do an internship. At Whitman not every student who starts the PLTW program completes it, but those who do speak well of the experience.

One is Engineering classes encased in the PLTW Engineering program and the other path is your kid just deciding what AP Science classes they want.

Ones a program one’s not. Good programs usually come with organization, oversight, and things like projects/trips/internship/and a cohort.
