My ex has an uncommon name that I absolutely love. Part of me wanted to name DS it, but we opted for a family name instead. The fact that it's an uncommon name makes it less weird or have some kind of hidden meaning (like he's still in love with you). It's probably a name that stuck with him that he liked a lot.

Nah, I would NEVER have named my kid an ex's name. I don't have a whole lot of exes, so it's not like the pickings for name choices were slim, but left with any other option, hard pass on this idea.

It's definitely odd. I'm curious as to whether or not ex's wife knows about OP. Would make for a very awkward introduction someday if not!

He probably just likes the name. Or his wife does. It's unlikely that it has anything to do with you. All of us would spend a hell of a lot less time worrying about stuff like this if we realized how truly little others think about us.

It's not necessarily that deep - maybe he and his wife just liked the name.

Honestly, he could just really like the name and yes, maybe it has pleasant connotations for him, but I wouldn’t read too much more into it.
