Subject: Why do people think they can judge the merit of an academic discipline just by taking the intro course?
I don't know about judging the merit. I was judging whether I liked it or not, and you can tell that from one class. I knew I wasn't going to take more ECON. But it's not that I thought Econ has no merit.

This is often a "flex move" by STEM-lords. i.e. 'I took sociology 101, and I got an A just by spouting back woke propaganda like capitalism is evil and America is racist."

Sometimes those who make snap judgments the quickest are not all that intelligent.
And many people have the attention span of a gnat.

Why do people think they know the content and academic merit of a subject just by taking the survey course. For instance they'll take psych 101 or sociology 101 and then declare those subjects are easy, worthless, superficial etc.
