There was only one AN-225 and it was destroyed. OP obviously saw a AN-124

AN-124’s are on infrequent occasions seen landing or taking off at IAD. They’re a rare sight in the US. Consider yourself lucky to have caught a glimpse of one.

This noon there was a huge plane (Russian?) landing in Dulles. Anyone know who's it is and why it was in DC area? I think it might be coming to DC on a regular basis. This was not the regular 747 or A380 and had multiple wheels instead of the standard 4+4 configuration.
