Why all verbal? It will all be recorded on time sheets

+1
As a taxpayer, I like transparency. All this verbal stuff is suss.

To the above poster, suggest making an audio recording of what you were told to do today re the message and not putting it in writing.

I was allowed to verbally tell my employees their status. Which is all of us, including me, furloughed. Again instructed not to put it in writing. I could grant telework at my discretion if the employee requested it. Otherwise, my understanding is that furlough letters will be in our emails tomorrow morning post 7am and we can have up to 4 hours for orderly shut down. I plan for less than an hour and then see you later.

We were told if we were furloughed and had a telework agreement...we could shutdown from home...but we are not furloughed yet We are in limbo.

Wouldn’t you have to go in for orderly shutdown anyway?

My agency is also open and not sharing anything about how long that might last.

We left saying they could not say if we were furloughed or not. Does anyone know what us going on? I have no idea if I should get up and to work tomorrow or not. What are they deciding based on that could change at this point?
