Employers are not responsible for providing unemployment issue but it is all on line and pretty easy to do. I would file right away. Just a google search and a few online questions.

Fed contractor laid off from job located in DC due to cancelled contracts (i.e., lay off, no performance issues). I live in MD, do I file in DC? I know the unemployment is a pittance, but at 50+ in this local economy with a kid in college, every little bit will help. If HR from DC-based employer was supposed to provide any of this in their separation info, they did not probably because they're so busy and losing their own jobs, too. My other question is whether there is actually any money left in DC unemployment? Seems like it would have already been drained in 2025 with so many federal workers and contractors losing jobs. Thanks.
