I also don’t know what this means. Can you post or link example pictures?

I don't know why you would even want retinol or whatever.
Do you mean you no longer have bone structure?
Look bloated?
You are looking for something to blame it on.
It may just be age.

OP, try using a gentle retinol just every few days. I did that for years and built up very slowly. Skip the exfoliants (the combo of the two can be too much). About 10 years later, now have the lowest Rx for Tretinoin, and still just use that sparingly and alternate with milder OTC retinols.

That said, for me, salt and lack of sleep are probably the main culprits for facial puffiness and dullness (if that’s what you mean by potato-y).

Sounds like you answered your own question in your first paragraph. Not sure what you want us to tell you.

Your weight sounds fine. Are you on HRT?

I’m 40 and in menopause (medically necessary hysterectomy) and I’m getting potato face. I’m 5’4 and 127-129 lbs depending on the day, so not terribly sized, but my face just keeps getting more potatoey. Do I need to cut sugar and carbs? Caffeine? Dairy? Going to be honest, I start every day with a double cappuccino with whole milk. And I have a sweet tooth.

Currently I do vitamin c, Génifique, sunscreen and Botox. Retinol flares my rosacea. I could perhaps do some retin A but would have to go very slow.

Give me some advice on the beauty front on how to handle, and feel free to kick my butt on the diet side.
