No one celebrates an anniversary that isn't theirs, unless they are invited to a formal event, in which case, they do need to offer congratulations and a small gift if they attend.

She wants to feel like her marriage is less of a train wreck. Tell her you’re sorry. Also ask her how she’s doing and if she’s ok, beside she doesn’t seem happy with Larlo.

This. Besides my parents, I have no idea what anyone’s anniversary is.

DH and I both forgot our anniversary this year. We didn’t think about it until my sister wished us a happy anniversary.

I know when mine is (most years) and I know when my parents was and my sister’s is. I don’t keep track of anyone else’s.

She needs a reality check.

I think your friend is being ridiculous but you have two choices. (1) Ignore her. (2) Acknowledge that maybe she's going through a rough time and tell her you're sorry it hurt her feelings that you didn't wish her a happy anniversary. She sounds high-maintenance and needy so if you want to just ignore her, that's totally reasonable.

I don't wish anyone a happy anniversary except maybe my parents when I happen to think of it. An anniversary is for the couple, not everyone else.

An anniversary is between the two people.

I hate when people wish me a happy anniversary.

It is between myself and my DH. I don't need an anniversary to tell me we have a fabulous marriage.

They are just Hallmark words...

A friend constantly screams at her husband even in public. It’s annoying. So their anniversary was this past weekend and I didn’t wish her a happy anniversary. Now she is angry with me. “WHY DIDN’T YOU WISH ME A HAPPY ANNIVERSARY??” Why would I?
