All that you know is this person who doesn’t know you is ignoring you. Doesn’t mean they are not dealing with the estate. You have zero legal interest in this.

Yeah this doesn't make sense. If they were to inherit they would know. And the time to make claims against the estate is over. If it went to Probate you could look up the court records, I guess.

If you're just looking for an estate lawyer, there are better ways.

About 10 years prior to the accident, the deceased had both of my parents sign paperwork stating he was including them in his will.

What do you, or your parents, need to find out? Do your parents think they were in the will?

I would check with the local probate court. However, if the accident was a few years ago they may have missed the SOL to file a claim against the estate. This one is state specific.

Was the deceased a resident of MD? If so, I’d start with the Register of Wills for their county. If their will was prepared by an attorney, it would have been filed with their county Register of Wills.

Why does it concern you?

The accident was a few years ago. No response from son for obvious reasons.

To make a long story short, an elderly friend of my elderly parents was struck by a vehicle while crossing a street and passed away. The surviving son is not responding to phone calls about the estate. Surviving son has changed his phone number.
