absolutely nothing. I excuse my current senior from those half days because she can be more productive with her time by staying home and working on homework/college apps than going to school.

I wonder how productive a day 10/16 is going to be since 10/15 is essentially a wasted day and a 4 day weekend starting 10/17.

Nothing. It's just to game the metrics of "180 days". Like when a baseball game gets called for rain in the 5th inning vs 4th inning,.

I tell me kids that I will not excuse them for the day, and they have to let me know if they are skipping, but otherwise I will leave it to their discretion.

It is very hard for teachers to teach new content since half the kids are generally absent. Best to stay home and catch up on stuff

There are afternoon classes. But not much happens because so many kids are absent. I told my kid if he has zero missing assignments he doesn’t have to go. If anything is missing, he’s going.

Transportation is provided on regular school schedule, space is designated for kids not taking the test, but if they have a ride, they can come when classes start after lunch.

School dependent - each plans their own day.

Mine too. I think my kid might come home at lunch.

At Seneca Valley, only Periods 7 and 8 will meet after the test and lunch.

Our school said that no instruction would happen in periods 1-4. Does that means there is instruction later in the day? Might it depend on the teacher? I need to get DD to ask. It would be nice if she could go home early after her PSAT.
