I was worried too but I'm sold on Thermador's longevity.

Inductino has few moving parts. No need for a warranty.

Thanks to the owners who replied. So do you think the warranty is redundant?

Check your credit card - some will automatically double the warranty period.

I have an induction cooktop and received an email from Thermador regarding the extended warranty via the The Thermador Appliance Service Plan. My cooktop has a 2 yr coverage from the manufacturer. Buying an additional 5 years will cover me through 2032 and cost $620 (10% of the cost of the appliance).

To me the investment seems worth it in terms of cost. However, I have no experience with the service side of Thermador. How responsive are they with service and repairs? In case of a defective appliance, are they forthcoming with repairs / replacements or do they drag the process citing normal wear and tear etc.?

Please tell me more about your experience with Thermador service.

Thanks
