I was assigned to support a new division within my org last year. I’m a SME and it was going well for the first few months, but now I’m reporting to a different director I don’t feel good about. He questions everything I tell him we need to do, he really seems to have no idea what’s going on half the time, and I’ve already had to loop in my real supervisor to help diffuse a tough situation at least twice. I think he wants me out to replace with a friend (this is based on a conversation I overheard) and is trying to position me as a difficult employee. He’s also tried to get me to do a few things I wasn’t comfortable doing because I lack the required training.

I really want to get a transfer and did already ask my supervisor about one, but they were wishy-washy saying they can’t move anyone until the middle of the new fiscal year. Find a new job? Quit before he gets me fired? Document all bad interactions?
