I'd be more worried about FAA.

From 10/15 onward, travel will be a disaster. Good luck everyone!

hell no

1. Trump's administration is not planning on back pay. No matter what the norms are.
2. In two weeks we will have full shut down of air travel. It is already being discussed.

Who is discussing this? Link?

Last time there wasn’t the specter of RIF nor the recent criticism of ATC like what happened at DCA. I don’t think they will do a sick out or anything and be happy they have a job and will eventually be paid.

TSA maybe under less scrutiny but they will just staff them with ICE and National Guard if they checkout.

Totally unfair to them to make them work without being paid. Would be a 13th amendment violation for anyone but the federal government, I think.

Selfishly I am concerned because I have to fly mid month with a disabled companion and am nervous about all the extra time already.

Be very kind to them. It sucks.

The next two paydays are 10/14 and 10/28. If we're still shut down, 10/14 will be a partial pay check (for work through 9/30) and 10/28 will be the first completely missed check.
I guess people could start calling out before 10/14 in anticipation, but in Trump's first term they didn't until they missed pay.

They may sickout first because they don’t make that much and tend not to have a lot of financial reserves, but it usually ends when air traffic control refuses to come in.

For those who have traveled, how is TSA running? I’m traveling out of DCA this week and wanted to know if I should give it extra time.
