I am strongly considering LASIK. I've had it with my contacts. I've worn them since I was about 20. Before that, I wore glasses, and there is no way I'd go back to wearing those.

Even when I'm at home, I don't switch to my glasses. I leave my contacts in til I go to bed. The problem with that is I don't like being blind for the short time before falling asleep, which is why I am leaning toward LASIK.

Contacts are great. You don’t even fill them. They give you peripheral vision.

Same situation OP. I’ve gotten used to it in every day life but it really bothers me exercising!!

I hear you OP but luckily you live during a time where glasses 🤓 are no longer looked down upon….in fact glasses are stylish now where many people who do not need to wear them do wear them. As a fashion statement or accessory.

Plus there are so many different frame styles for ALL face shapes.

I advise you to shop for a pair (or two!) of stylish, fashionable frames to complement your face!!

That’s interesting. I got new lenses in my eyes in connection with cataract surgery in my early 60’s, so I don’t wear glasses anymore. And outside of my kids, it is the miracle of my life. I say that I’m kind of like Elsa - the rain doesn’t bother me anymore. No glasses to get spotty!

If you can get new lenses in your eyes earlier in life, do it!

You should seriously consider LASIK - get a consultation to see what your options are. I had horrible eyes my whole life -7.50 and finally got LASIK at 40. I had dry eye for a year, but everything healed well, and I'm so glad I went through with it. Also, the doctor preemptively under corrected one eye so that I won't need reading glasses for a while. I am 46 now, and I don't have any issues with close reading, yet.

Have you checked that you can do Lasik successful with the eye issues that you have?

If so, then it's the option that gives you a few years of freedom, since you hate your glasses. Just know that in your 40s, you'll need glasses again as you become presbyopic.

What do you mean by heavy? Do you have to wear hard contacts? If not, work with your eye doctor and try different kinds. Sometimes you have to find the right fit for your eyes.

Same. I hate my glasses but it’s the easiest way to deal. And I look like a naked mole rat without them at this point.

Your prescription is too heavy for contacts? What do you mean? I have a very strong Rx and wear dailies. They’re great.

I've had my glasses since I was 4 years old. I choose them carefully and I like wearing them. I cannot tolerate contacts and don't want surgery. Everyone in my family wears glasses.

Maybe look at a big online store to see if you can find a pair that you like?

Is doing eye therapy to improve your vision an option? Then you might be able to have a less "heavy" prescription.

Well, your options are contacts or LASIK so....

I did LASIK. It was great. YMMV.

I don't like contacts either my prescription is too heavy.

I'm a bit afraid of LASIK .

I just want to look pretty and I don't feel pretty in my glasses.
