Maybe you should have thought of that before you bought into this trend?
I won't be seen dead in wide leg jeans.

Find it impossible to get my hands on (my feet into) a pair of slim ankle booties - most of them have openings the size of the English Channel.

New Balance sneakers. If super snowy, these black boots kind of like nicer construction boots I’ve had since 1994.

I came here to ask this and found that you beat me to it. The current jeans/pants styles make it so difficult. Say what you will about skinny jeans, but you could wear any shoes with them - sneakers, Chelsea boots, riding boots, ankle boots, flats, loafers. I can’t do the wide leg, so I have been trying to go with straight leg jeans. When it’s cold, what shoes do I wear? Especially when I need to somewhat dress up and cover my ankles?

I wear Blundstones pretty much all the time in winter.

As soon temperatures are so low that I can’t comfortably expose my ankles on go the Blundstones. With very comfortable, warm socks, usually Smartwool, Darn Tough or Bombas.

The last few years, I spend most of the winter alternating between some basic black Chelsea boots and a pair of LL Bean boots for wetter, colder weather. I have some Fryes tucked into the back of my closet I could break out, but they seem so heavy to me now. I am not really interested in the tall boot trend because I mostly wear pants.

I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for, I guess just maybe something to freshen my wardrobe. I wouldn't mind something I could wear in damp or snowy weather that is more stylish than the Bean boots. I like the look of clog boots but worry they are impractical (can't wear when it's wet, might be hard to walk in?).

So I'm just looking for ideas. What do you wear to work? The weekend? Any boot trends I need to check out? I like versatile shoes that are durable and can be worn with lots of different things -- jeans, work pants, leggings, a sweater dress and tights.
