I haven't taken a tub bath in decades. I like showers and shower in the MB tub. I would love just a shower there but too expensive to redo it. DH has a jacuzzi in other upstairs bathroom.

Absolutely hate my master bath without a big tub. I hate, hate, hate it. I just can't afford to expand the room size. The master bath is tiny as hell. I'd never do this again.

I'd rather have a nice shower with all the bells and whistles than a tub as long as there was another tub in the house.

I think it's fine. That's the same setup I have: a tiny master bathroom with a shower and a tub/shower in the hallway bathroom.

I posted about this about a week ago about how much it would cost to change it back to a bathtub after all the bathrooms were turned into showers. Apparently very expensive. They said like $20K. The point is I passed on the house so yes it might effect resale.

How about adding a splash of color? I noticed all bathrooms are always so bland and neutral. I'd love to have deep greens or blues incorporated in my bathrooms, but again unsure if it might be off-putting to some?

Are you planning to sell soon? If not do what will make you happy. We recently did a similar renovation. We went from tiny shower and stand alone tub in the master bath to large shower with multiple shower heads and bench with no tub. I love it every time I'm in there. We're not bath people and don't miss it at all. A small number of people are bath people and may not like it. But as long as you have another bathroom with a tub for kids I don't think its going to be a dramatic impact.

Nah this is fine. We also have small bathrooms and only a shower in the master, but with a shower/tub combination in the hall bath and basement bath. I didn’t think twice about it when we bought.

Our master doesn’t have a tub and we don’t care. There are two other full baths, both of which have tubs, and that’s more than adequate. Very few adults take baths enough that having one right there is mission critical. There just needs to be one somewhere.

I will say, one of our tubs is in the bathroom connected to the kids room and thus is inaccessible when the kids are sleeping. If that was the only tub, that’d be a bummer (but for us, the other bathroom with the tub is a hall bath.

We’re planning to remodel our bathrooms. Since we live in a small townhouse, the bathrooms are tiny. The master bathroom doesn’t have space for both a tub and a shower. I’m a big fan of showers and would like to replace the current tub with a shower. But would that hurt our resale value? There’s also a second full bathroom on the same level, next to the kid’s bedroom, and we plan to keep the tub there.
