Of course it is worth it. This program has been around for a very long time and is well regarded. Our kid got multiple scholastic awards over the years. I am not sure it helped with college admissions, but it gave them confidence in an area of passion that they still pursue.

Yes it is.

If your kid is good and gets a Gold key award ( regional, but preferably national), it will look good in the college application.

unless your kid has lots of other awards? Go to the website and pull the awards for last year for your region. You'll see names and schools.

My kid is at an arts-focused high school and will likely continue with visual arts in college. Is it worth paying the $10 entry fee to enter the Scholastic contest? Generally I am against contests with entry fees, but I feel like the Scholastic contest might be a rare exception. Thoughts?
