We are a class of 48 in upper ES at Bullis. Besides them, maybe Norwood? Sidwell perhaps.

It is hard to respond without knowing what size you are looking for. We are at bullis— LS is about 32 total (2 sections) in K-2, 48 total (3 sections) in 3-5, and 60-80 per grade (classes usually around 15 kids) in 6-8. It gets much bigger in US with around 150-160 per grade so there are enough kids to offer a wide range of classes and activities. It’s been a great size for our kids, with grades getting bigger as they need more options for friends and programming.

What size are you targeting? 20? 50?

Most of the K-12 schools have larger grade levels. It’s more the smaller K-8 that can be very small, and even smaller in middle school.

Grade sizes or class sizes?

So a school with 20 second graders or 40 second graders in two sections with twenty kids in a classroom?

What do you consider “larger”?

The schools in this area are so strong, but I worry that the smaller schools will feel socially stifling for our DCs. Thank you for any insight.
