DD was admitted to Yale this past cycle (and is currently attending) without an interview or likely letter.

Yes - started a few years ago

My kid got a STEM likely (named YES scholar) at the very beginning of February (email then phone call from AO delivering the good news followed by physical letter a week or two later) Kid had an interview in mid-January.

My child got a likely letter but that came in Feb and did an interview just one week prior to getting that letter. The actual letter itself is a few weeks later but got a telephone call first from the director of admissions who communicated the news. Not all the kids who got likely letter got interviews per my kid.

The likely letters don’t come out until around Feb

My child applied RD last year, had an interview, and was accepted but no likely letter

Does this also hold true for transfer applicants?

The last two years it has been almost unheard of to be admitted to Yale without an interview regardless of what they say. There’s a Yale Daily News article about it for the class of 2028 and anecdotally the same proved true for 2029.
