In fifth grade no player should only play one position multiple boys should try goalie. Also have your goalie play attack or defense. Plenty of time later on to specialize.

My fantasy is for coach to put one of these parents in the goal for a game. Or at least her son. It will humble her real quick.

She doesn’t understand sports. It’s never the goalie’s fault. Even when the goalie flat-out chokes on something, it never should have gotten to that point in the first place.

How is it not on the team to score and level it up? The team has to score too.

There are a lot of things wrong with this. First, blaming the goalie in lacrosse is invariable wrong. Second, it's fifth effin' grade. Third, regardless of the age, a parent talking smack about another kids is . . . well, she's a crappy person.

5th grade rec people. We aren’t talking about a club team

If you are going to be a goalie parent you and your kid better develop a thick skin.

You could get the coach to talk to her, if you don't want to tell her yourself. What a nasty person she is.

100%. If it comes down to the goalie that means the rest of the team hasn’t done their own job. My daughter had a nasty kid on her soccer team who would criticize my goalie for the same thing. If you as a midfielder didn’t let the ball get past you then the goalie wouldn’t be in the situation of having to defend the goal.

None of the other parents shut her down? That would really annoy me.

On my son’s fifth grade rec team there’s a mom that continues to make comments about my son (goalie) implying he’s the reason. At this age, there seems to be a misunderstanding the goalie will get every shot, even undefended ones. If your child is a goalie did you deal with a few parents in the team that would get upset with your child, even if their own attack didn’t score once in a game and they lost?
