That is so incredibly rude you should have talked to yourself, sang to yourself or something stop her form doing that. Clearly she has main character syndrome and you should have set her straight. People keep being rude like this because they get away with it and no one sets them straight.

It's public transportation and it's not the quiet car. Get over yourself or fly private

I disagree with this. There is a difference between people having a conversation and someone talking to herself. I'm not sure why, but there is. Under the PP's reasoning, a passenger could listen to a podcast on a flight, and she'd just shrug and stew to herself.

People talk constantly on flights. If you sit near either galley you hear the attendants talk with each other and with the passengers, even on overnight flights. I don't enjoy you but you should expect it and wear ear plugs.

There should be quiet flights, like quiet cars. People would pay extra.

Even in business class people will keep lights on, windows open, talk, stand up constantly, etc. you can only control yourself - plan for noise cancelling headphones, eye covers, layered clothing, downloaded shows in case your screen doesn’t work, etc.

Nope. Not rude. Rude if she’s talking to you, sure, but no different than had she been talking to a friend sitting next to her for the entire flight. There’s no “quiet car” on airplanes.

I am with the poster that said noise canceling headphones. Certain things is a must when you are going on a flight; a water bottle (for those delays of exiting the plane or take off and the cabin can get extremely hot), tylenol, noise canceling headphones, a hoodie

I once sat on the front row of two people who talked without a stop for hours and hours on a cross-Atlantic red eye flight. They also had their lights on, and finally, after my little kid woke up repeatedly because of the light, I asked them to turn off the light. Perhaps because of that they started paying attention to where they were and what other people were trying to do (sleep). An hour before landing they asked me if I was bothered by their talking and after that they finally shut up.

Sat next to a woman on a flight who would not stop talking for the entire 3.5 hour flight. It looked like she was translating some document into a foreign language and was recording it into audio files. Just a nonstop assault for hours on end being forced to this woman go on without break or silence. There is a lot of annoying things other passengers can do on a plane, but this one is a new one to me. Is it not rude to do translating work outloud for an entire flight?

Might as well play a 3.5 hour long Playlist or movie with no headphones while we are at it.
