I have had random people confide in me over many decades as I, apparently, appear to be a considerate person who maintains confidences. Sometimes I am very surprised at how trivial folks' thoughts are. I wonder how they would react if a real emergency entered into their life/lives.
I’m not sure this coworker’s borrowing the hot sauce is even what irritates OP so much; it sounds to me like his pretense *every single time* that the reason why he needs to borrow it is because he’s left his at home. It reveals an awareness that he’s enough of an imposition that he should justify his request. If this is strictly a one-way relationship (OP gives and he takes), I can see why OP is sick of him. Does he do her any favors?

Many fast food restaurants and deli sections of supermarkets give away hot sauce packets for free.
If this gets under your skin, then you really need to get a better perspective on life.

If you are SURE that he saw you using the hot sauce on your food, you can always address the issue so it can finally be put to rest.
If you decide to do so - - just let him know that you do not mind sharing your hot sauce every now ➕ then however you felt kind of put out as he was asking you everyday.
You can apologize for not telling him this sooner but that you felt awkward telling him all of this.
Hopefully you guys can laugh this one off then continue to work together amicably.
