If your kid is into history then St Jerome Institute would probably be the place where they'd get the most thorough history curriculum ( look at their website. It's all there in great detail ). I'd definitely enquire.

I have/had 3 DC at 2 Catholic schools in DC. Honestly, I can only think of 3/4 that didn’t impress me.

I agree. You’ll never be guaranteed a specific teacher. Admissions and counseling departments aren’t going to open that door; if they honor your request, they’ll have to honor all. (I work in a Catholic high school.)
Instead, look at the school’s programs and get a feel for the school’s environment and culture.

Stone Ridge is very robust in the area of visual and performing arts with classes in ceramics, drawing/painting, drama, dance, choral arts, photography, etc. As for the teachers, they are excellent for the most part. I would say that DD all her teachers in her four years there with the exception of two.

I would caution against picking a school because of a specific teacher, or even a few specific teachers. Sure, get a read on the caliber of teaching overall, but if you choose a school for a specific teacher, that teacher might leave, or start teaching a different class because another teacher left and the department reassigned them, or your student just might never get their preferred teacher if more than one teaches the same class.
