I got on the metro today at 5:30 to head home. Full train. A woman was sitting near the middle of the 2-seater so I just perched on the end, thinking she’d scoot over to give me half of the seat. Nope. I eventually just got up and stood next to her.

I don't mind unless they're literally blocking the entire way. I have stopped to respond to an urgent text, as have most people. It's fine.

The entire area is people like this and one of the reasons we will be leaving soon.

Have you really never in your life gotten distracted and stopped where it was inconvenient for someone else? I find your sainthood unlikely.

I was with you till you mentioned the fluffy white dog. It’s not the dog’s fault that it looks “silly” or that its owner wears a Yale cap.

I still wear my Y cap from college but I literally have never bought a baseball cap otherwise and don’t have any others. I feel bad now, worth it to buy something generic?

This is like 85% of dog owners.

No. An old fart with a pot belly. But it wouldn't have mattered. The Yale cap . . .

Just encountered this. A woman standing in a parking lot. She was texting. An absolutely terrible spot to stop and stand. Not even on the sidewalk portion. She looked surprised when cars needed to get by her. No situational awareness at all.

For sure. I mean, get over yourself already. Your glory days are long behind you.

On a walk in Shaw today my path was blocked by an oblivious older white guy wearing a Yale cap (of course he was) with a silly looking fluffy white dog on a long leash while he texted away on his iphone. I literally had to say "excuse me??" He barely looked up.
I'd be slightly less annoyed if he weren't wearing the Yale cap.
