PP what evidence do you have for this?

I don’t think there’s any preferential treatment once admitted. There is an extra cost

We are not Catholic and DC was offered a spot in the Muller Center.

O’Connell’s Muller Center is great.

Many Catholic high schools offer support programs for dyslexia.

I know several students who attended these schools and felt supported:

O’Connell
Ireton
SJC

Call their admissions office and ask about special services offered. Make sure to ask how many spots are available in each grade and if students are supported in the program for all 4 years.

Are these all anecdotal or does anyone have first hand experience at any of these?

+1
We looked at Bishop O’Connell for our DC with a similar profile and it was excellent. We ultimately went with a non-Catholic school because we aren’t Catholic, but the dyslexia support was extremely enticing.

Most of the large Catholic high schools have learning support programs for students with this profile. I’m more familiar with MD/DC - St. John’s has the Benilde Program and Good Counsel has Ryken Program. From what I can tell the GC program offers more support (specialized classes) and is somewhat more flexible in letting students take advanced classes in areas of strength. DC with dyslexia is applying for 9th next year.

DD has mild to moderate dyslexia. She is an extremely hard worker and an excellent math students. She does need accommodations for classes like history that requiere a lot of reading.

I am tired of fighting FCPS so would like to go private for HS.

Which catholic HS have support for learning differences like dyslexia?
