Totally not fake news but a great SAT score can help you have serious competitive edge with recruiting if you are front loaded by 9/1 junior year with a 1400+ score for any ivies.

They have my athlete doing alumni in person interview next week too! Anyone else’s player requested to do phone or in person admission interview with alumni?

You can get recruited by Ivy but you may have to decomit if you can’t get the scores. Every year you will see several kids decomit. Get high test scores before 9/1 junior year so you don’t have the stress of a make or break testing scenario.

My player knew she wanted Ivy League dream school, so we got advice to take it sophomore year to get a baseline - early fall 10th grade and did ok in 1400s. Then she knew where she needed to focus to get score up. She took it again in winter of 10th grade and was able to super score, got high 1490. She takes many AP, top in class, high GPA as well. It definitely helped with recruiting as all the college coaches knew she could take it again junior year if needed. Take it often and early in 10th grade to give player competitive edge when all else is equal. It is another way to stand out to a coach especially if player hopes for high academic! Also, all of the high academic recruits/parents we talked to from other areas she met along the way were doing the same.

Mine submitted 2 weeks ago, already accepted. Deposit paid, and now just able to focus on being a senior.

Testing completed last summer, application completed this summer, application submitted this month and already received acceptance and merit $$. Some are quick others are slow...

Mine had to do the supplemental essays too!!!

So smart for 2028s to get on the SAT test early and often to get the score
ready for recruiting! Be ahead of the game and coaches love it if you have a score that early it gives your player an edge all things being equal. Even if school is test optional— take the test— it really could give you a boost with recruiting as coaches will have another metric that could help your player stand out!

Just remember for most athletes their college application is due early and many coaches want them submitted as soon as September. My daughter got hers submitted this week and should get a likely letter in October and officially admitted in December. Is everyone else in class of 2026 getting their early action/early decision applications in too?
