I don't even know how that's legal. What happens if there is a fire in the hallway and they can't escape?

I do believe it’s a fire code violation

That’s just waving air around freezer packs. But I suppose it’s better than nothing. You’ll have to take those freezer packs home each night to refreeze them.

Seriously can you put a big fan by the door? Is hallway temp controlled??

A windowless room is just a closet by any other name.

They sort of work. You need air movement to pull the moisture away from you.

Do you have a drop ceiling? If so, vent it there.

Unfortunately, there's no such thing. I looked for this a bunch when our A/C was out, no dice.

It's because of physics. Cold is just the absence of heat. You can't actually cool things, you can only remove heat. So you have to be able to vent that heat out somewhere.

Yeah OP. You need a way to get the heat out. That’s how AC works. Can they vent it out to hallway somehow??

A fan is your best & safest option.

My school’s a/c died last week and they brought in portable units for each classroom except mine because it doesn’t have a window. Can anyone recommend a portable a/c unit for a room with no windows? It’s slightly smaller than a standard sized classroom but not by much. Fans just blow the hot air around and by the end of the day it is in the mid 80s in here. Thanks.
