Thank you for this term! My tween has a bit more development than OP’s and wants to wear off the shoulder tops, but thin bra straps showing are not vibe we’re going for with our elementary aged kid. A brami looks like it would work perfectly!

Target has "Bramis" which are just a cropped camisole. But you could also do a regular undershirt/camisole like we wore in the 80s.

I can’t find the exact bra my 13 year old started with, but it was very similar to the Haines Bonded comfort bra, based on pictures.

Second the sports bra suggestion.

My daughter who is 10 likes both Yellowberry and Bleuet. They’re just over the head types. We have some Hanna Andersson ones but they are very thick - she finds them comfy but too hot for summer.

I think even if they don’t need a bra, and we think god bras suck, don’t rush into one, if it makes them feel secure/comfy, go for it.

There are half camisoles everywhere. No need for a tight bra. I check the thickness of the top . If it’s thin I put out a camo. If it’s thick cotton there isn’t any need because nothing shows.

Hannah Andersen has half camis that work well for this purpose

Maidenform girls bras. My DD liked the sports bra style. Available at Target, Macy's, etc.

DD10 is just starting to develop; her nipples are barely sticking out (no breast buds), and she wants some kind of bra to cover them. Any recommendations for what she can wear? I don’t think she’s ready for an actual training bra..?
