I have had multiple instances of being startled by a loud revving while driving. I really don’t like it either.

I like driving fast too (on highways!) but I don’t want to bring attention to myself. I like my cars quiet.

*ducks.

We get both on the highway near our home. Every once in a while at night, we’ll hear loud, revving engines followed by what sounds like the Indy 500. I haven’t witnessed drag racing, but I’ve definitely heard it.

Asian males in their twenties in, but not exclusively, seem to love small sporty cars with glasspaks (makes muffler sound noisy). I guess that it gives them a feeling of power, but it is annoying. Should be a ticketable offense.

Are you joking? None of the many young men I've seen doing that are Asian.

You would love my neighbor, The first thing he does when he gets a car is cut the muffler off and rev it up, He also doesn't care if it's 3:00am and people are trying to sleep.

Agree, I hate all the unnecessary and excessive car noises. They should get fined every time.

That's why they do it.

Don't go to Providence, RI in the summer. There were so many that my kids started busting out laughing every time one went off.

Goggle "Cherry Bombs" and "glass packs". Both create noise pollution.

Usually it's low-income young car enthusiasts from communities that don't really have much to look forward to.

Seriously though, its not just because its just “loud”, I always feel like people intentionally try to flex their new car when in reality, it just bothers some people and its annoying. Heck, some people are trying to rest or do a peaceful walk somewhere.

This happened on my way to work when one of the drivers right next to me intentionally making their car loud just because it sounds cool from what I guess.

Thats my small rant, and hopefully someone can relate.
