Look at her credit card statement for clues. is she spending any of her money at the grocery store? If not, she is ordering food in. Personally, I didn't pay for restaurant meals -- pizza on the weekends were okay..

Your daughter should get a job.

$100 a month. We pay for tuition, laundry and dining plan. She has summer job savings. OP’s amount is insane unless the goal is to raise a spoiled brat.

Our older kids, all boys, got the same amount of money, but there was always a lot left over every month. To me, $1500 is more than enough so, I believe she’s overspending. How much is your DD getting per month?

I consider us pretty rich -- so much so that I want my DD not work for $ during the semester, but rather have time for schoolwork and ECs -- and we give her $400 per month (she's on a meal plan). My DH thinks this amount is insanely large.

I don't know what your DD is spending all the money on, but perhaps she's eating out a lot?

Vape cartridges and hard seltzer can get expensive.

$50 per week and I think that’s way more than necessary.

My DD gets $200 a month too. We pay for textbooks, flights home at Thanksgiving and Christmas, and a full meal plan. The $200 a month pays for everything else. We'll give her a ski pass for her birthday next month.

You pay for her to get manicures?

DD has savings from summer jobs for fun money, clothes, eating outside meal plan, toiletries. We supplement with $250/month and she’s pretty frugal.

$0.

She has food and housing covered with meal plan and on campus housing. She doesn't have a need for transportation off campus. Clothes are from home.

If she wants something specific, she can ask for it, or she can get a campus job or spend her savings from summer work. I'm not funding nail appointments, I'm already paying hundreds of thousands for an education.

We paid for college dining plan and dorm. No allowance. If she wanted to go out to eat or shopping, that was on her. She worked summers and at school and used the money she saved. I can’t imagine how a college kid is spending that much money every month.

Inflation. $1500 now is like $500 a few years ago when your DS attended college. Eating out used to cost $10, now about $30 per person in urban area. Every thing is so much more expensive.
