Go to local campuses both college and HS, and find the bulletin boards in the dorms and commons, library, etc. and put up a notice on an index card or print out a few colorful flyers.

You will get tons of applicants, depending on your location's desirability.

My daughter is homeschooled and she babysits 1x/week for a couple of hours.

Easy. Pay extremely well

You’re not going to have a lot of options if you don’t need regularly scheduled care. Occasional sitters are a rarity.

Look at places you already take your kids during the day—Little Gym, swim lessons, etc. Those employees usually babysit on the side.

I had a part time nanny. You just need to pay someone guaranteed hours for 52 weeks a year.

When I lived in Chevy Chase used AU job board to find occasional babysitter. Once she graduated, gave me the names of interested friends.

If you know any college students in the area, even if they aren’t interested in babysitting, ask them to ask their friends.

Also underemployed or recent college grads are another option.

I’ve had great luck with Facebook groups specifically targeted to college students in X geographic area that want to babysit.

Use an agency that has an on-call division for things like this.

We live close to a university, so used college students. Found the first one on Care dot com. The schools also have job boards, would check that. Also look on the Nextdoor website- often have students on there looking for babysitting jobs. The first one is the hardest to find, but if you have easy kids and easy commute and fair pay, then they will pass along the job to their friends: sorority sisters.
