Just my opinion: my kid is very high stats and had a great paid internship that kid got by him/herself….and I imagine it is a tiny help- minuscule.

Depends on what kinds of colleges. For most colleges after top 50, every little thing could help. If you are scope ice cream for 2 weeks as a summer job, it would help compared to another kids who didn't. But if you're look at top 25 schools, it won't help.

How about if their gpa wasn't high? DS has 3.0 gpa, great EC, has an IEP. Only taken 1 AP. He did excellent in his marketing, project management internship. The internship was formal even though it was at his father's company. DH had no input into it. Should I navigate this with a college counselor?
