Quince for cashmere sweaters, Madewell for nice trousers; Everlane for nice (but expensive) basics; Poshmark for high-end second hand work clothes.

Shop at Halsbrook and buy way fewer things. Unless you changed sizes dramatically and have to cobble something together, you’ll be much happier if you buy 4 $400 things than 9 $150 things.

For soft wide leg jeans, try citizens of humanity. They’re really soft ime.

You have to pick through quality-wise, but I like the amount of clothes to look through at J. Crew Factory and the styles seem less "creative" (as you say OP) than J. Crew itself.

Reformation has great trousers.
Gap has really good wide leg jeans! Can’t beat the price either.

I know we have these threads frequently, but I'm in the situation where I'd like to update my fall/winter clothes with a few pieces and I'm at a loss. I haven't really bought much of anything since 2021, so a lot of my clothes are looking tired and a bit out of date.

The last places I shopped (about 5 years ago) were, just for a reference point:
Boden (stopped liking the quality)
Banana Republic (clothes became very neutral and boring)
Anthropologie (I always look there but their cuts are a little more "creative" than I prefer)
Talbots for trousers
Ann Taylor

Any ideas of places online I could look that I might not have heard of or thought of? I'm 47, average size, and don't want to spend more than $150-$200 per piece. Just looking for a few sweaters/tops/blouses, a pair or two of trousers, maybe a casual dress, a pair of soft wide leg jeans. I really need a website with a manageable amount of clothes to look through.
