Based on the question, you are part of a family new to volleyball. The answer depends on many factors, including the player age, skill level, height, and athleticism. It is virtually impossible to offer a targeted answer without this information. Here is a blog post from MVSA (https://www.mvsavbc.org/news_article/show/1317676) that discusses your question, but you will see a lot of generalities rather than the advice you are likely looking for. No club will trash itself talking about its philosophy or the perceived weaknesses, so take everything you read with a grain of salt. You need to talk to club parents to learn what is really happening - why they like the club or not. Or you can ask questions here if you don't feel like reading lots and lots of feedback that was likely offered here about the clubs you are interested in.

I agree with all of the above. I'd just add that for most families we know, the practice locations for that team is a huge factor too. The quality of the team and likelihood of our kids getting on one was the biggest factor in which teams we tried for. But the logistics of getting to and from practices and what was known by tryouts of the schedule, those were also big factors in our list of which teams we wanted most and which we'd settle for if we had to.
